About Akbuk
Akbuk is one of the hidden gems of Turkey,
located on the south west coast of the
Aegean. The town is perfectly located in a
beautiful bay surrounded by protected pine
forests and olive groves. Akbuk is the
quieter alternative to the busier holiday
resorts although gradual growth of the
resort is planned to include a golf course
and a direct road connecting to Bodrum
airport. No construction work is allowed
between the months of May – October, and no
buildings are to be built higher than two
and a half storeys.
Akbuk has a good range of shops and the
local market on a Friday is a magnet for
locals and tourists alike. There are
doctors, dentists, schools and a bus station
with regular services going to all of the
neighbouring towns including Altinkum, Soke,
Kusadasi and Bodrum.
