Rural cottage under renovation in Hungary, in Baranya County, close to PĂ©cs, the cultural
capital of the country, and surrounded by the Mecsek Mountains, full of hiking trails. The
village of Apátvarasd is a quiet little settlement with a high level of public safety, where just
over a hundred people live, many prefer to buy property here for holiday homes, for
recreation, and the house next door belongs to the Dutch. Surrounded by nature, woods
and fields, this little treasure village is isolated, yet only a 4 minute drive from the main road
6, which takes 10 to 20 minutes to reach the larger towns. For peace lovers, it is a real little
paradise, the sky is always clear and starry, with a small forest at the end of the plot and
fields behind. Around the village there are deer and roe deer, sometimes they even go down
to the small stream that runs in front of the house. Nearby are Pécs, Bonyhád, and the
popular spa and recreation centre Orfű. The house itself is 80-100 square metres, with one
large and one small room, a large kitchen, hall, covered terrace, shed outside, and a
neglected cellar. The traditional feel is made comfortable by newly installed air
conditioning, new modern plastic doors and windows, renovated floored rooms, renovated
bathroom and toilet, the renovation has been put on hold due to personal family changes,
but with a little effort and at such a reasonable price it can be turned into a wonderful home
or holiday home.
