just 10-12 minutes walk away. The public security is
outstanding, nothing can disturb the tranquillity of
those who are living here.
About the area:
Balaton is the biggest lake in Central Europe with it`s
length of 77 km but the average depht is just about 3-
4 m so it is ideal for sailing, fishing or swimming. In
the summertime the water temperature goes well over
20 C degrees, the climate is very mediterrain-like.
Numerous spas can be found in the vicinity of the lake,
so if you are looking for a rich cultural experience with
medical, health or wellness treatments, then Hungary
is the place that suits you best. The ancient Romans
had a very developed bath culture in Hungary more
than 2000 years ago. They highly valued the healing
effects of Hungarian thermal waters. In the 16th
century, the Turks built beautiful Turkish Baths in
Budapest which are still in use today. The Romans also
brought vines to Hungary and since the 5th century AD
there are records of extensive vineyards in the country
especially at lake Balaton. The volcanic soil makes
vines famous around the lake but not less famous are
the various kinds of delicious spirits (p�linka) and so is
last but not least the hungarian cuisine especially the
traditional fish dishes of great variety.
The house itself is located in Balatonf�ldv�r which can
easily be reached from Budapest international airport
in one hour and a half on the new highway. It is 45
minutes drive from Balaton Airport (S�rmell�k city) and
just 20 minutes from Si�fok airfield that is liked by
Austrian and German visitors, many of those buy
properties here. Bicycling is very popular in Hungary.
There is a 200 km long bicycle road as well around the
lake for the convenience of cycle lovers.
