Buying a house in Hungary is very quick, usually within a week, you will be able to move in, however I have done this in a day, its simply a matter meeting at a lawyers, the lawyer making the contract, and all parties signing it, you pay your money and you get the keys, all the paper work is dealt with at the land registry while you enjoy your new home. Here unlike Spain there are no land grab worries, and everything is all above board and legal just like in the Uk. You dont need to register as a business or anything like that, a bank account to take care of your bills can be opened in five minutes although you dont nessasarily need one. Its simple enough to use a cash machine and withdraw from your usual bank account.

Regular cheap flights from the Uk, from as little as 99p all in. A choice of airports to fly to from the UK to, Bratislava, Vienna, Balaton or a little further Budapest, all approximately the same distance from house, an hour or so. With good Train and bus links. (there is a train station less than 1km from the house).

The climate here is very Meditteranian like but much more bearable in the summer months than say Spain. Things are considerably cheaper here yet they still have all the modern amenities and even a 24 hour Tesco is never too far away. In fact you will recognise many company names here. They have fast and cheap internet too.

I believe there are many business opportunities here, compared to the costas where the council seem to favour the locals when it comes to granting licenses and Austria is less than 40 minutes away. Imagine living so central in Europe that every wheres only a close drive away.

The first thing you will notice in Hungary is the price of everything compared to the Uk and even the Costas.
You will find that most of the English living here have moved here from the Costas after learning that it has become increasingly more expensive to live there, here you will find that your UK pension will stretch a lot further.

The people are very friendly and many speak very good English. Hungary has only recently joined the E U and you can expect property prices to rocket here in the next few years. They expect to adopt the Euro before 2012.

Prices are steadily increasing each year unlike Spain. I am told house prices are rising at 30% per anum, so be quick to Grab a bargain.
