Gyor, is a historic city, seat of Gyor-Moson Sopron county (approx. 463.000 inhabitants). It is
located on the banks of the river Moson, which flows into the Danube, just 10 km from the
city. Apart from superb higyway and railway connections, conditions are created to connect
Gyor with Vienna, Bratislava and Budapest by water too. Although the city has its own

Richards Fine Linen Factory was one of the most important players in the Hungarian textile
industry of the 20th century, and one of the most influential companies in the domestic wool
industry of the time. The company was founded in Gyor in 1905 and operated in its original
form until 1992 when ownership and product line changed. Still today the factory is
operational in textiles although technology and product line changed dramatically in the
meantime.
