Bird Estate Reserve is a unique destination, located in the Southern Zambian, on the Zambezi Plateau just over 30kms east of Kalomo town.

The area is on 4,000 acres of pristine Miombo woodlands, forests and thickets. Developed over 15 years ago this area now boasts over 160 head of Sable Antelope and other species including Buffalo, Roan Antelope, Kafue Lechwe, Livingstone Eland, Lichtenstein Hartebeest, Southern Impala, Common Duiker, Bushpig, Greater Kudu, Zebra and Nyala

The main camp is located on the banks of the Sable Dam, guests are accommodated in separate, luxury tented chalets with en-suite bathrooms. Each of the three tented chalets is decorated in a traditional style, with comfortable bedding and solar lighting.

The hunting style dining area is overlooking the water where you can dine whilst watching wildlife quenching their thirst. It is an open plan design, under a thatched roof with bar and relaxation area. The fireplace is at the front edge under the African sky.

On the property the owners breed top quality `clean` Cape buffalo, western Zambian sable, roan antelope, nyala, and other exotic game species. There is 8 x sable breeding camps of 20 h/t and open areas fully stocked with game for hunting safaris and tented safari camp, 250 bonsmara cattle and a 4 h/t citrus orchard 1500 trees.

A large dam and one of the best river in the southern province on the one boundary bushveld consists of pristine Miombo woodlands, forests and thickets. Bird Estate Reserve is just over an hours` drive (140 kms) from Livingstone just east of Kalomo town. Following the great north tar road from Livingstone towards Lusaka, turning off 20 kms past Kalomo town onto a dirt road driving and heading South to the reserve situated on the Zambezi Plateau.
