The Kerkennah islands are a small group of islands, of which only the two larger islands are inhabited. The islands are situated in the Mediterranean, approximately 20 km from Sfax, the second city of Tunisia.
They are served by a regular car and passenger ferry service from the main port of Sfax to Sidi Youseff on the western tip of Isle Gharbi. From there buses and taxis run to all parts of the islands.
The two main islands � Isle Chergui and Isle Gharbi are connected by a Roman causeway and a bridge (el Kantara). A small network of paved roads run from Sidi Youseff to the other extremities of the islands and numerous sand tracks provide access to other parts of the islands.
The main town of Remla, on Isle Chergui, is the administrative hub of the islands, housing the Beledere (the Council Offices), the office of the Delegate, two banks, the main Post Office, a garage/filling station and a good range of shops.
The villa for sale is a beautifully appointed family residence, situated adjacent to a safe, sandy, gently shelving beach on the main island � Isle Chergui � of the Kerkennah islands.
