There is a smaller river nearby which borders Italy and has many beautiful natural swimming holes ideal for children.

Other nearby attractions are the wine making area of Goriska Brda, known as the Tuscany of Slovenia, the historic town of Kanal which has a rail service to the coast or to Lakes Bohinj and Bled. Venice is one and a half hours away and the nearest ski resort is an hour away.
