the middle of some of the tallest pines of the surrounding mountains.
Underneath this platform you find a large area for storage, services, equipment and machinery to
support the house keeping.
This interesting villa is situated at the top of Penedo, the most traditional village of Sintra,
strategically located on a high spur amidst mountains.
Its origin is not very well defined but some authors point to the reference to Penedo in the 16th
century, more specifically in 1527. Less than 5 km from the coast and at an altitude of 218 meters, 9
km from Sintra and 18 Km from Cascais, the access is made from Sintra by EN 247 direction Sintra-
Colares - Almoçageme. GPS coordinates 38.791079, -9.454341, near Cabo da Roca, the
westernmost point of Europe, where the land ends and the sea begins.
