minute drive from David City you find
Hacienda Montserrat. With a panoramic
view of the Valle de la Luna (Moon Valley)
and a fresh climate all year round with
temperatures between 65� and 75�farenheit
rests this wonderful land with the river,` Rio
Mula` and creeks crossing through it.
Within ten minutes drive, the City of La
Concepcion, the second largest city with
35,000 inhabitants in the Chiriqui Province,
offers immeadiate conviniences and a
refreshing natural country feeling with friendly
and down to earth people.
A forty five minutes drive away, the
International border with Costa Rica�s
Republic, is accesible for fun shopping and
tourism.

Near to the Hacienda, at one hour from it,
there are two of Panama`s protected
National Parks: Parque la Amistad (PILA)
and Parque Volcan Baru.
Adding to that magnificent beauty of nature
there lies the majestic Volcan Baru at 11,400
feet above sea level, wich can be reached by
climbing, mounting horse riding or with a
vehicle 4x4 from a point near by. From there
it is possible to see the Pacific Ocean to the
south and the Caribbean Sea to the north.
Birdwatching is another strong point of the
area. The quetzal is without a doubt the
main attraction nearby. Birds of outstanding
beauty, with more than 40 different species
in the region to observe, specially nesting.

Activities around the Hacienda often revolve
with nature related activities. This area is
surrounded by dairy and agricultural farms,
thoroughbred stables. Activities such as: bird
watching, hiking, cycling, fishing, river-rafting,
camping, horse-back riding, jogging and
gardening all of them can be enjoyed all
year round.
Bilingual medical services are available in the
area, as well as in David`s two private
hospitals. Costs of health care are
considerably lower in Panama, compared
with the U.S. and if needed one can see a
specialist within an hour in David. Medical
insurance, if desired may be obtained via
international insurance carriers or locally at
reasonable rates.
