It appears Penonome may get another big boost as a new international destination in Panama. Penonome is a small but vibrant town about 90 minutes west of Panama City limits.

`Penonomé is the most suitable area for development of that infrastructure`, said the Minister of Economy and Finance, Alberto Vallarino, who was accompanied by Minister of Public Works (MOP), Federico Suarez, and the Director of Civil Aviation (PCA), Rafael Barcenas.
After the inspection, the officials concluded that Penonomé meets most requirements for the location of the new airport, which they estimate will give a huge economic impact to the province and increase the opportunities for tourism development and export
