The semi-mountainous village of
Kaplani is located northwest of
Koroni, at a distance of 13
kilometers. The village is situated
at an altitude of 220 meters, in the
Zarnaoura mountain range.

Visitors here can wander through
the traditional alleys with stone-
built houses and the old Primary
School, which first opened in 1898.
The village`s churches are also
noteworthy, such as St.
Athanasios (which was built in
1907), the Dormition of the
Theotokos, and the parish church
of Prophet Elias. When you are in
the village, be sure to visit the
vaulted Mycenaean tombs at the
Viglia site, one of the most
important attractions in the area.

The present neoclassical building
is a 2-level structure in Kaplani,
Messenia. It is an old stone
architecture, one of the oldest in
the area, located in a picturesque
neighborhood that consists of
stone buildings. It needs
renovation and could be utilized as
a vacation home, as well as an
investment due to the rapid
growth of tourism in the area. It is
located next to Foinikounta, just
25 kilometers from Pylos and 50
kilometers from Kalamata.
