Music and banter reign in Getsemani and the `coolest neighbourhood` in Cartagena and Colombia is not recommended for shrinking violets but there`s no question it offers inspirational experiences for open-minded travellers looking to collect tales to dine off on for the rest of the year.
You will be expected to interact (dance) with the locals, a friendly and fun-loving bunch that spend every free moment playing baseball, dancing, drinking and generally living the kind of laid-back life that visitors from the hard-working west would die for.
Renovated in 2007, this house was awarded the prize for best `façade` for a house of its kind in 2012. The property offers a simple décor that combines contemporary influences borrowed from the owner`s travels around Latin America whilst capturing the historical charms of this fascinating district.
There`s no swimming pool but the rooftop terrace offers a great spot for late-night barbeques and a privelged spot to soak up the barrio`s electric vibe.
Rooms are comfortable with two rooms with double-beds and one with bunk-beds for the kids or the most juvenile adults.
A downstairs living room has three sofa beds that lif the house`s capacity from six people to nine.
The house has two bathrooms and an expansive dining area for banquets. Breakfast, meals and cleaning can be arranged.
