BC but was destroyed by the Romans and 219.g. BC built on the site of the Roman PHARIA. The old part of town has been preserved in the traditional sense of architecture and as such is of great tourist value. On the south side of the bay along the coast are building from the Austro-Hungarian times. Because of its central island location, the Old Town is the perfect starting point for long walks and trips to the sunniest Adriatic island. Millenary history of continuous living has left many monuments marking.
