Built in 1994 as part of a development aid project, this Rainforest Jungle Lodge spans 15.6 hectares surrounded on three sides by Piedras Blancas National Park and is accessible year-round via a gravel road. The property features nine two-bedroom cabins, a two-bedroom jungle villa with kitchen, a manager house, staff and guide accommodations, laundry and office buildings, plus a restaurant, bar, saltwater pool with automated treatment, and a nine-seater tour boat. A network of on-site trails links to park paths. In 2019 the lodge recorded 2,387 overnight stays and is represented by 85 travel agencies. It holds a sustainable tourism certificate and has achieved carbon neutrality through reforestation. Amenities include a propane-equipped kitchen, 15,000-liter water tank fed by a 70 m well, biofilter greywater system, septic tanks for each cabin, live-video security via 11 cameras, walkie-talkie communication and a self-service library.
