Playa Zancudo has one of the most beautiful sandy beaches in Costa Rica. This small rustic
town is popular for it`s remoteness and beauty. The crazy outside world barely affects us.
This property is located about 200 meters back from the road, in a gorgeous jungle, and has
a private gated entrance. We just had super fast fiber optic internet installed. The beach is a
5 minute walk and you can hear the waves at the house.
The house has 3 bedroom and 3 bathrooms and 2 sitting rooms and a huge wrap around
roofed in porch downstairs and a screened in porch upstairs. This house was handcrafted
with excellent materials and rare hardwood features. There is also a big Bodega with the
well safe inside. It would be easy to put a second story apartment on top. This is situated
on half a hectare or 1.3 acres. Asking $265,000
We have loads of fruit trees! The avocado just started fruiting this year and is super
delicious. The cinnamon tree is getting big. Also we have many guanabanas, limes,
pineapples, noni`s and papaya. Also the raised bed has habanero, arugula, lettuce, basil,
cucumber, squash and oregano. There`s many fish and coconuts at the beach. This is a
homesteader`s dream property. The smell of ylang ylang trees wafting in the air at sunrise
and all night long in the upstairs bedroom window! Sunsets are intoxicating.
The abundance of bird and animal life is incredible! Many monkeys and exotic birds!
The town has two good grocery stores, many restaurants and boat docks.
Golfito is a beautiful one hour drive and so is the famous Panama border with it`s cut rate
shopping and duty free.
San Jose is a six hour drive.
The temperature ranges from 65-85 degrees between May and January...it doesn`t get more
perfect than it is right now! February, March and April are hotter and drier up to 92 degrees
I will give my opinion on what it`s like to live here. I have lived in 3 different places here in
Zancudo. Beachfront- the least private and also gets inundated by the salty wind.
Everything rusts very fast. Also you are prone to thieves who use the dark and unguarded
beach as access to your house at night. There`s lots of theft of things left outside. Also
break-ins happen in the dark of night. There`s pretty much zero privacy.
I lived next to the road also which has a bit more privacy but tons of road dust and noise.
Now I live here back in the beautiful jungle. It`s hands down the best place to live in
Zancudo in my opinion! No noise and complete privacy. There`s actual real soil to grow
plants versus the sandy beachfront desert. And of course all the monkeys are back here.
It`s wonderful! When you lock the gate at night you feel completely secure. It`s just plain
lovely 🌹
