Have you ever gone somewhere and didn’t want to leave? A place where you felt secure and apart from all
the problems of the day. A magical spot where the world melts away and you feel surrounded by peace?
Well, this is Casa Oasis.

I told the owners I could close the doors and simply never leave, I would have everything I needed
delivered and invite just a few select people into my private paradise and live out my life.

This is Casa Oasis.

The impressive foyer and the two other buildings are all linked by expansive arches. As you enter, the
entire house unfolds before your eyes, framed by Crema Maya stone columns and lush greenery.

Advancing through the foyer, past the art niches that line the walls, you are presented with a soaring
white dome, complemented by twin brick “bread loaf” ceilings, and triple wrought iron custom
chandeliers.

Pause for a moment and take it in. You know you have found a special home.

This is Casa Oasis.

From this huge foyer, you enter two guestrooms, each with its own ensuite bathroom.

Immediately off each of these bedrooms you are treated to 2 terraces, the east one providing a wonderful
area for quiet relaxation. Off this terrace you discover a garage and supplementary secure parking with
electric door openers, for up to three cars. The west terrace, framed by greenery in recessed arches
under the stairs to the upper level, provides a seating area suggesting a delightful breakfast or luncheon
space, apart from the main house dining room.

The west building, which is a two-story structure, houses an expansive upper level guest suite with
ensuite bathroom and no less than two discrete upper terraces. One of the terraces has roof over and
offers a view of the gardens and pool and the main house through the arched columns and is accessed
by the several ticul stone steps of the wrought iron circular stairs. This guest suite opens directly onto
the second upper terrace, north facing, toward the prevailing breezes, with the multiple glass-doored
entire north wall of the bedroom being capable of opening onto it, and an enchanting table and chairs,
should morning privacy be a preference with your coffee and pastries.

The main level of this west building houses a pair of guest bedrooms serviced by a “Jack and Jill”
bathroom. Each of these guest rooms has large windows opening onto adjacent gardens and tall double
doors onto the terrace.

There is a secure storage room off one of these bedrooms. The bathroom is also accessed from the pool
terrace and serves additionally as a day/guest bathroom.

The majestic main structure with its multiple pairs of tall wrought iron doors is the principal area of the
home and provides the indoor living and dining spaces and the well equipped kitchen, with a dishwasher
tucked under the island beside the vegetable prep sink, and a wine fridge situated under one of the other
U shaped countertops, near the double sink. All countertops, including the large island, are topped with
dramatic black granite. The large, custom wrought iron lighted wine glass rack and pot hanger over the
island completes the arrangement.

Immediately adjacent to the kitchen is a full laundry and extensive chef’s pantry, which also provides
access to a second utility room with a laundry/service tub and a service door opening to the gardens.
This dream kitchen has all the best if you love to cook as I do.

Just outside the kitchen there is a large BBQ with searing burner, supplied by gas from the house roof
tank to avoid annoying tank filling and switching. This is a great spot for having friends over for a
cookout and splash in the pool.

The expansive main terrace features outdoor living and dining spaces overlooking the lush gardens and
palm trees. It’s impossible to describe the transformation of this area in the evenings, the result of the
extensive terrace and landscape lighting. The terrace lifestyle that this home provides, in accompaniment
with the interior living and dining areas, creates irresistible choices.

And when your bed beckons, an enchanting master bedroom is just through the twin pairs of wrought
iron doors and is completed by an ensuite with double ticul stone basins, a shower and bathtub, and
there is even an additional outdoor shower for those wonderful warm mornings or after a dip in the pool.
A generous, open walk-in closet area offers ample space for ‘his and her’ wardrobes. A private walkway
leads from the swimming pool directly into this master suite.

The magnificent pool, guarded by a pair of iron waterfall dragons, is warmed by the sun-powered rooftop
heating system. The owners keep it at 90 degrees, to swim year round. You can choose your own favorite
temperature. A poolside shower hides inside one of the two Mayan carved stone feathered serpents that
stand watch from their place in the bell tower.

The main house faces north, to capture the prevailing breezes while keeping the sun off the main terrace.
The front is 59.71 feet width at the street and then opens up to more than 78 ft. wide for the overall
property, a rare width in the Historic District and which made the house design and layout possible. There
are 5,381 square feet of construction in the home and 2,240.81 squares feet of land.

These principal rooms, protected from direct sun exposure, are delightfully cool, due to their north
orientation, the 5 metre high ceilings and multiple doors which open onto the terrace, and by the
Fanimation palm-blade fans, although an owner may opt to close all the doors and benefit from the Air
conditioning. But due to the way this home was designed and constructed there is always a breeze.

While being located in the most sought-after barrio of the Historic District, in an ideal location only
several minutes stroll from Paseo de Montejo boulevard with its galleries eateries and museums, and
central to all of the Historic District’s attractions, the house is exceptionally serene, in part due to the
street not being a bus route, and in part due to its layout and positioning on the property.

I have been in this business here in Merida 22 years, I have seen and sold many, many homes. But none
quite like this one. This is a home you have to step through the doorways and take in the lush tropical
sight to experience for yourself.

This is Casa Oasis!
