The Development
The Corvin Promenade project is the largest urban renewal program in Central Europe, a 22-hectare neighborhood in the heart of Budapest.
Along the lengthwise axis of the project area, you will find it`s symbolic namesake, the green promenade - a continuous public space wider (36m) than Liszt Ferenc Square and longer than Vaci Street (700m). The Promenade will become the widest pedestrian mall in Budapest.

Project initiators, the local Municipality and the City Government in conjunction with Futureal Group enlisted sociologists, historical preservationists, environmentalists, traffic engineers, urban designers and architects to jointly find a solution to significantly improving the constructed environment and quality of life in this area. Their answer to this complex problem is the multifunctional Corvin Promenade.
Close to 3,000 modern apartments will be built. Spacious quiet interior garden spaces will provide a balance of structures and green spaces. All buildings will feature unique facades, yet the singular style and design approach will still create an overall harmonious effect.
In addition, 46 pre-war structures, such as apartment buildings of historical importance and a school will be renovated. The public utility infrastructure will be replaced, underground stations and the stops of trams are to be refurbished. The streets will be widened and made greener.

Location, location, location
Walking in District 8, in the heart of the city centre, monumental landmarks and significant reminders of the capital`s rich history are everywhere you look. This is where they built the Quarter of Palaces in the 19th Century and is also home to the National Museum, Hungarian Radio Studios, Museum of Natural Sciences, Semmelweis University, ELTE University, Academy of Theatre and Film Art, MTA Institute of Experimental Medicine, Central Library, Corvin and Urania Cinemas.
Much of the scientific and cultural life of the country is concentrated here, in close proximity to the Corvin Project.

Transport Links
Corvin Promenade is almost equidistant from all other parts of the city. The city core is 5 minutes away. Budapest Ferihegy Airport can be reached in 20 minutes.
Two underground stations providing access to the western and eastern ends of the city and the nearby overland tram lines No. 4&6 are to be refurbished, in order to serve the public with modern and comfortable transportation options.
To facilitate the flow of traffic in the area, a reorganised traffic scheme is being implemented and underground-parking garages will accommodate close to 5,000 cars. Sidewalks will be returned to pedestrians, the promenade will be off-limits to cars.
