Update. If you google `vegvesen``e39``skei` you`ll see the road in front of the house, the E39, is being widened & a footpath made alongside it. This means some land will be bought & access to the road improved. Planning applications to build on land round here have been refused on the grounds of safe access to the unimproved road. Jolstravatn has what is probably some of the best trout and char fishing in Norway including fero trout (2 or 3 Norwegian record Trout have come from the Jolster River).

The house was built in 1920 & needs upkeep you`ll probably need to do yourself unless you can afford to fill the house with cheap foreign labour. That could be a business. Import workers, them stay with you, charge them food & board & find them work.

Not for dreamers but if you know a large group of people who want to live somewhere they can enjoy amazing nature, glaciers, it could be a very cost effective way of living sharing the same heating, space, food etc.
