transportation is made easy by cheap taxis that come
and go from the town day and night, as well as a bus
service that works throughout the day.
The village is one of many coastal villages tucked into
the valleys along the shore. A well-paved highway runs
along the Northern shore, where you can go for a
drive, peer over fantastic cliffs and mountain ranges,
explore villages along the coast, and watch the sunrise
on the Mediterranean.
The charming village of Amsa is in located only 15 km
from Oued Laou and 12 km from the medina of
Tetouan, an old city classified as a UNESCO World
Heritage Site in the far North of the Rif Mountains.
Many of those expelled from Al –Andalus by the
Spanish Reconquista reside in Tetouan. The city`s
history dates back to the Roman and Phoenician era
though was successfully ruled by the Marinids, the
Castilians, the Alaouites and in 1913 became the
capital of the Spanish protectorate of Morocco (many
people still speak Spanish).
The ecology of the region surrounding Amsa is also
incredibly diverse. The forests, organic farms and
groves, creeks are all within eyesight of the Luna del
Mar apartments. Many hikes, and boating activities are
available to make the most of these amazing nature
sites.
